Composition Note

Luther’s Evening Prayer was first in the series that Pastor Samuel Gullixson asked me to write. I modeled it after the style of The Lord's Prayer chant in the Evangelical Lutheran Hymnary. Luther once remarked that “Music is a very fine art. The notes can make the words come alive.” It is my hope that the notes do so and only serve to point back to the text.
